How do bomb blankets work?

This piece of protecting equipment is designed to mitigate blast detonations to minimize the risk of secondary fragmentation by the improvised explosive device (IED). Bomb blankets are commonly used to get protection against hand grenade, fragmentation created by electrical explosion or pressure, and pipe bombs. These bomb blankets are used in conjunction with blast containment ring. The Armormax® bomb blanket are used in vehicles and homes to suppress the fragments and cause further damage. The ring is used around explosive devices, and a blanket covers the containment ring and bomb. To suppress the explosions form more massive explosives, two or more rings and bomb blankets can also be used. The inner and outer covers of the ring and blanket keep the multiple layer ballistic fillers.
